Today the Political and Administrative leadership is gathered at Olivewood for its Policy Review Workshop.

The Policy workshop is an integral part of ensuring that the policies of the municipality are reviewed in order to ensure that they are in line with legislation and to strengthen the Municipality’s governance and operational framework.

Opening the session, Hon Mayor, Cllr NW Tekile said “ Policies are an important part of ensuring that our policies speak directly to service delivery what are we doing how and why are we doing it. We should Ensure that all policies are properly aligned with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP)”

Mr Mambila in delivering the purpose said the policy review workshop was being done in order to ensure that we are able to adequately implement our 2026/27 IDP starting from the 1st July 2026. “we are here to not only review, but have new policies such as the animal pound policy, firearm policy, coastal management policy, biodiversity protection policy, traffic bylaw and keeping of animals in towns and townships” which will be tabled for consideration by council l.
