Great Kei Municipality Council Adopts Annual Report and Tables, Draft Budget and IDP

The Council of Great Kei Municipality convened a duly constituted Council Sitting on 26 March 2026, wherein critical governance and accountability matters were successfully concluded.

Council formally adopted the 2024/25 Annual Report together with the Oversight Report, in line with the requirements of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management.

In the same sitting, Council tabled the Draft 2026/27 Budget and Integrated Development Plan (IDP), marking a significant milestone in the municipality’s strategic planning and service delivery roadmap for the upcoming financial year. These documents will guide public consultation processes and community participation as prescribed by legislation.

The meeting was further strengthened by the presence of the Audit Committee Chairperson, Dr Sambumbu, who presented the Mid-Term Audit Committee Report for the 2025/26 financial year. The report provided an independent assessment of the municipality’s financial management, governance systems, and internal controls.
