Great Kei Municipality Back-to-School Programme Brings Hope to Learners
Great Kei Municipality, under the leadership of the Hon Mayor, Cllr N.W. Tekile, successfully rolled out a Back-to-School Programme aimed at supporting learners from disadvantaged backgrounds across the municipality.
The programme, implemented in partnership with Chaba Winds of Change Community Trust, saw the Mayor visit seven (7) schools across various wards within Great Kei Municipality, where school uniforms were distributed to deserving learners.
Each school received approximately 50 sets of school uniforms, ensuring that many learners are able to attend school with dignity, confidence, and a renewed sense of belonging.
This initiative forms part of the Trust’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which seeks to uplift communities and invest in the future of young people through meaningful social interventions.
The Hon Mayor, together with the broader Great Kei community, extends heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Chaba Winds of Change Community Trust for their generous contribution. This noble gesture is not only meeting an immediate need but is also boosting the self-esteem and morale of learners, thereby contributing positively to their academic journey and future prospects.
Great Kei Municipality remains committed to strengthening partnerships that drive social development, support education, and improve the quality of life of its residents.
