On 18 July,The Great Kei Local Municipality celebrated another milestone as the Hon Mayor Cllr NW Tekile, officially handed over the newly built Draaibosch Community Hall valued at R3.5 million to the local community.

The programme was chaired by Cllr Z Patuluko.

Hon  Cllr Z Tshali welcomed the guests and expressed great joy for the initiative.

The ribbon was officially cut by Hon Mayor Cllr NW Tekile.

Taking the stand, Hon Mayor Cllr NW Tekile expressed gratitude to the community for their patience, saying:

“Siyabulela bantu balapha ukuba nivume ukuhamba indlela ende nathi.” He wished that the hall would serve and benefit everyone for many years to come.

He then officially handed over the community hall to the people of Draaibosch.

The vote of thanks was delivered by a community member, who said:

“Siyabulela kuMaspala ngobambisana nangokuthi azive izikhalo zethu,sithi kubo nangamso yanga indlela yethu nabo ingahlala intle.”
