Today 5 companies got the opportunity to give deliver presentation to the Political and Administrative leadership of Great Kei Municipality on prospective developments around Great Kei. This follows an investors forum meeting which was held in the last financial year on 20 July 2022 in Qumrha, where Investors gave presentations on their prospective development projects around Great Kei.

Honourable Mayor, Cllr NW Tekile,who was present with Council Speaker, Hon N Mgema and EXCO member Hon Cllr Z Patuluko said he was happy to see the presentations and he looked forward to unlocking economic development for the people of Great Kei. He went on to tell the team as lead by the Municipal Manager Mr L Mambila, that if an investor is coming forward with a proposal, then council should embrace and have quick turnaround times, to ensure that we do not frustrate the process as these investments come with ample opportunities for our communities.

“I am happy that this process has started, it has been some time since we had our investment forum, so this move is very welcome. The people of Great Kei have long been wanting this type of development, so these presentations today take us 1 step towards this development, but let’s monitor it from start to end to ensure that we see it through”

The following companies gave comprehensive presentations, which were interrogated by the Great Kei Team:

3. IKhaya Development
4. Olive Works Property Specialist
5. Akholiwe PTY (LTD)

All council committees (starting from the technical land committee) which are scheduled to sit will deliberate on these presentations and upon their deliberations they will be taken to council for an approval.

Once council gives the green light “kuzawqhuma uthuli” as Great Kei will once again be a construction site, living its motto: #empowermentthroughdevelopment
